The Pre-Kindergarten Program:

  • The Reading Program provides children with pre-reading exercises in sequencing events, saying words, blending, rhyming and recognizing sounds and symbols (phonics), as well as beginning reading.  It is designed for children to advance in reading instruction faster then children learning from a traditional approach.  
  • The Letter People is a year-long alphabet study which promotes letter recognition and awareness of sound/symbol correspondence through the use of appealing characters for each letter sound and fun jingles for each letter.
  • Advanced Language Arts provides communication, comprehension, conversational and listening skills, and increases vocabulary. It helps the child speak clearly and in complete sentences, to categorize and understand abstract ideas.
  • Math provides a hands-on approach to number recognition, and the ability to recognize number symbols and to understand what the numbers really mean.  Children learn counting skills and work with symbols (=)(+)(-).
  • Our subjects included in the curriculum are:  Fine and Large motor activities, Science/Discovery, Calendar, Weather, Music, Art, Dramatic Play, Cooking Projects, Computer Education, Jolly Phonics, Social Studies, Health and Nutrition.
  • Music and Songs make learning fun while circle games, finger plays, exercises, creative art, easel painting, coloring, cutting and pasting all develop small motor skills and early learning. Calendar and weather study, “Show and Tell” strengthen everyday skills. These activities and many more combine to shape our early childhood learning programs.

Creative Curriculum

The goal of an early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. The curriculum should help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners.


Helps children increase their large and small muscle skills and feel confident about what their bodies can do.


Assists children to become confident learners by letting them try out their own ideas and experience success, and by helping them acquire learning skills such as the ability to solve problems, ask questions, and use words to describe their ideas, observations, and feelings.


To help children feel comfortable in school, trust their environment, make friends, and feel they are a part of the group.


To help children experience pride and self-confidence, develop independence and self-control, and have a positive attitude toward life.

Children often use blocks to recreate the world around them—a road, a house, the zoo.
They work together, learn to cooperate, and make friends.

Dramatic Play
The ability to pretend is very important to a child’s development. They learn to cooperate with others, solve problems, and are able to think abstractly—all important skills for success in school.

Toys and Games
When children use toys and games, they explore how things work; learn to be creative and use their imaginations; strengthen and control the small muscles in their hands; work cooperatively and solve problems; and learn math ideas and concepts.

Art Center
Children express original ideas and feelings, improve their coordination, learn to recognize colors and textures, and develop creativity and pride in their accomplishments by exploring and using art materials.

Cooking Activities
When children cook, they have an opportunity to learn about nutrition, to be creative, and to prepare their own healthy snacks. It may take extra time and there may be a bigger mess, but there are many rewards. Your child will learn literacy, math, and science skills.

Science & Discovery
Children do what scientists do—ask questions; plan and conduct investigations; gather information; construct an explanation; and communicate feelings. In addition to learning science content, they learn how to solve problems together and how to communicate with others.

Sand and Water
Both sand and water are natural materials for learning and help children to develop their minds and bodies in relaxing and enjoyable ways. Playing with sand and water involves sensory experiences that appeal to young children.

Music & Movement
Singing and moving to music gives children a chance to hear and appreciate different kinds of music, express themselves through their movement, and practice new skills. The children love singing together and it helps them learn to cooperate in a group.

Library, Writing & Listening
Reading introduces new ideas, helps children learn how to handle problems that come up in life, and mostly encourages them to develop a love for books. We encourage children to look at books, to listen to taped stories, to retell stories, and to scribble and write throughout the day.

Computers & Technology
When children work at the computer in pairs or small groups, they learn from each other and develop their social skills. We are preparing children for a future in which they will need to know how to work with computers.

Physical exercise and fresh air are very important to a child’s health and well being. Making time each day to be outdoors, exploring, making discoveries and appreciating nature. While outside, children can run, jump, swing, climb, and use all the large muscles in their bodies.
